What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California's

My gf lives in KS, we want to move in by summer. She should have everything completed except for probation and interlock, which she needs on for a couple years. Can these be transferred to CA?? We want to get married.

Your girlfriend will need to speak to her probation officer.

Depends on the State

Every state has different rules regarding driver's licenses but the interlock shouldn't be an issue because it is installed on the car. Have your gf talk to her probation officer to see if she can transfer probation supervision to CA. Different states have different rules. If she is eligible to transfer, it shouldn't be an issue as long as she is compliant. Make sure she has permission to leave the state before she goes because they can violate her for that!

The type of interlock device installed in one state may not be used in another state so interlocks CAN be an issue. The laws on interlock devices can also vary from state to state. Here from both MADD and the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) are overviews of the states' first-offender interlock laws:

Madd.org: http://www.madd.org/laws/law-overview/Overview-of-first-offender-interlock-laws.pdf

NCSL: http://www.ncsl.org/research/transportation/state-ignition-interlock-laws.aspx

Colorado, could you please look at the posting dates on threads before posting. Several of the threads you have posted to are older ones and the original poster is often no longer around to benefit from the information you provide. Also, you might want to re-read the terms and conditions of this forum. Commercial messages are prohibited on this site. Thanks.
