Ok so today i was out at breakfast with some friends and my mom called me up an demanded i get home, when i came home i found a cop sitting there and he started questioning me about transporting alchohol. Now im 17 and im permitted by my parents to drink, however i cannot drive or i'd b killed. so my mom went and told the cop how i was driving with a closed case of beer in the car and this was like a week ago, she had just been in a bad mood and mad i took her car over mine. so the cop went on about how he'd "I'll take your ****ing licence for 2 years at your parents request" now im not cop but first of all he cant curse and second all he has is my parents word that i had the beer. not to mention i doubt 2 years is how long u loose ur licence for for an offense like this. so he gave me a warning and told me that he would be watching all of my vehicles and if i roll to far past a stop line he'd pull me over and take away my license and search the vehicle. pardon my language but thats ****ed up. let me know what people think about these bogus laws and what i can do about this crooked cop. you'd think my town police would have a little more respect for a volueenter fire fighter but i guess not.

You're 17? Hate to tell you but your parents can't give you permission that allows you to break the laws. You are not allowed to drink until you are 21. The police officer may have seemed mean to you but he has a right to arrest you for MIP if you are driving with beer. He also has a right to do a legal search incident to a stop. In other words, if you do anything wrong like rolling a stop sign, he can stop you and search your car. And if you are caught drinking or with alcohol you CAN lose your license. Do what BL said -- grow up and get out and start behaving.

I've got a son about your age, one year older. He gets hassled by local cops from time to time and has finally learned that his age, hair length, fast car and attitude get him only more closely scrutinized. It's not fair, but you have to be more careful driving around than your parents. Cops will look you over more than they will a guy my age. So the best advice anyone can give you is not to give cops or parents anything to be suspicious of. It will pass in time.
