What is the name of your state? CA

This question is for a friend.

She lost or was actually stolen from the room: a 10 year old gold ring with a garnet stone which she paid $200, it is covered by plan. She doesn't have original receipt. Insurance company is asking for original receipt. Are there any other ways to show proof?

I asked them if they could find a picture with the ring in it but they said they didnt know of a picture.

If that is the ONLY thing she lost, and it wasn't scheduled, it probably won't meet the deductible. Most deductibles are $250 or higher. Also, if it was lost, and not scheduled, it won't be covered.

She'll need to figure out a way to prove it. She's bound to have a picture somewhere. She's at a formal dinner, wore the ring, people around the table were snapping photos, etc.
