Travelling while on H1B extension

I'm a Physical Therapist from India, licensed in New York.
I applied for an extension on my H1B before its deadline - August 30th.
I received the approval notice today (10th November) and I am awaiting the RFE to forward my license scores to the USCIS, in order to get the extension on the H1B visa.
My question was to know, if it is sensible to travel to India, in the current situation.
Please do let me know about the same.

It is not clear how you could get an approval notice and yet still be waiting for the RFE?! Please clarify.

My apologies.
I meant I have received the receipt for the H1B packet sent.
I am awaiting the RFE and the H1B approval/ denial.

Please do let me know if it is sensible to travel outside the States while waiting for the H1B approval.

I want to travel for health reasons.

I have no idea about the merits of your application since I know nothing about it. Why would you be expecting a RFE if it is just an extension? If it is an approvable petition, then there are no issues with traveling but without knowledge of the specifics, I cannot speculate on the likelihood of approval.
