A huge Maple tree located in my parents yard, fell during a storm onto their home. It completely destroyed two rooms and the entire roof system. Professional tree removers would not touch this tree to cut it down because they could hit the power lines. They suggested that we contact Allegheny Power company. After many attempts, APC finally sent someone out to look at the tree. Their rep, was in agreement that this Maple tree needed to be cut down immediately and that it is APC responsibility due to the access to the power lines. Weeks went by...no APC to cut down the tree. My parents first contact to APC was in March. This Maple tree fell during a storm on June 4th, thankfully no injuries only to the home. My question: Can we hold Allegheny Power company negligance in not cutting down this tree? My parents have limited homeowner's insurance and it will not cover all of the damages. This is also causing additional stress on my aging parents. What do you recommend? We have detailed notes with dates and events on what transpired from March until the tree came down.
Thank you. Ms. UtilityWhat is the name of your state?
