tree fell on car

a tree branch fell on my car. i parked under a tree and a brach bigger than the car itself fell from the sky and scratched the hell out of my car.

is there any way the city is responsible for something like this?

It happened in Studio City, Ca.

Not unless the tree was on city property and the city knew or should have known the branch was likely to fall. This is why you buy comprehensive insurance.
