There is a large apple tree on privately owned property adjacent to our condominium property. This tree overhangs onto the condo property. The apples from the tree eventually fall from the tree onto our parking lot area, rot, attract critters, cause a mess, etc. We have sent certified request to property owner requesting the tree be trimmed back over the property line. Our request has been ignored. Does the condo have the right to trim the portion of the tree overhanging onto its' property without the consent of the property owner? Would this action on our part constitute violation of trespassing laws?

Go right ahead, just don't enter their land or reach over their property line with the saw. It's gonna be WAY ugly when you're done, though.

Read "Property line rights" on this board for more discussion of the principles involved.
