Neighbor needs to take large dying pine tree down and has asked if he may have it professionally “felled” into my yard since he would have to have it sectioned out if taken down in his yard at much greater expense. There is about a 60 degree arc where this tree could safely be felled without hitting my shed or utility lines. Would his homeowner’s insurance or the tree service’s insurance cover any damages to my property? What should I ask for showing liability coverage before granting permission? Thanks!

speak with your insurance company about their requirements for the tree service. Then demand at a minimum of the tree service carrying a liability policy.
