I went to a man I had been dating for 3 months house. He has had other females arrested for one stole from him.

Well I wanted to ask why he had told some older men we knew that I wanted them. He was upset and ask me to leave he called police but I left.

I got no answer and thought he was just tired and drunk, so I went back only this time I had an insulin shock, he knew I was diabetic but did not understand it as many don't and think I am crazy.

Well I blacked out and next thing I remember is an officer handcuffing me, the officer never would listen to me about being diabetic, he pushed me well walked fast and I fell in ditch spring ancle he never put any of that in report. They also would not give me my lawyer or a phone call until 5 hours later and which I missed my medicine doses also have heart problem and other stuff pacemaker etc.

I was very sick all next day. He has on report I appear to be intoxicated and they did no test.

I have also been stopped on a few occasions not a lot and over years they think I am drunk and I say I am diabetic and they let me go and one time I got lost ...

I wish I knew what to do, is it possible to ask my freind or ex freind to drop tresspassing, and what about the police this is just wrong all together .

I realize they have to make a judgement at the scene but after I think he should have listened.

Do you think I will get criminal charges?

Thanks

Diabetics

Diabetics who take insulin often are mistaken for drunk and even breath smells, it is a fruity smell.

I don't understand do you not understand about the arrest?

I'm afraid I'm not going to be of any help with your legal question, a) I'm not a lawyer and b) I'm having great difficulty making sense of your post.

One thing is very clear though, and excuse me if I deviate from your question but you really need to carry information with you on your medical condition(s) so that in the event you get involved with the police again, they're clearly able to identify that you are suffering from a medical complaint (diabetes) and that the symptoms of which can mimic intoxication. Also, this is an invaluable source of information should you require emergency medical treatment.

In England we have several things available, the most popular being a Medic-Alert Bracelet or Necklace. I'm sure you must have something similar here - I suggest you talk with your Doctor about this.

Best of luck on getting a reply to your legal question though.

I hate to hear that?

Do you have a lawyer?

Regardless of the charge, or if you even were drunk..The officers become liable once you are taken into custody for your care and well being..If what you are saying is true,

Denying medical treatment.
Denying medications.
Negleting to treat your injury or file a report to that fact..
Denying you your right to a phone call.

You may have some violations of your civil rights.

I would not attempt to contact the gentleman who called the officers, I would retain a lawyer and explain the facts, if the court apoints you an atty. and you feel that your atty did not act in your intreast or with in ethical codes..you may wish to file a charge with the center for professional responcibility..cominucation is very important for a good client-attny relationship..good luck let me know how things turn out.
