What is the name of your state?

Well, the relevant state is Ohio. My partner and I are planning to go to Ohio next month to get married, but I am having a hell of a time trying to get any complete and accurate information online.

We’re trying to find out what the requirements are for applying for a license by mail if you live out of state (as we do) and are planning to be married in Cuyahoga County, and also if a judge will perform the necessary formalities. It seems different counties have their own rules up there, and I’ll be darned if I can find the guiding ordinance or what-have-you. We don’t want any silly mushy stuff, just the legalities. I suppose I could just wait until Monday and call, but it’s eating at me. Does anyone know?? Or know where I can find out?

First problem, you cannot apply for a marriage license in Ohio by mail.
"f you live out of the state of Ohio, you must apply in the county where the ceremony is to take place, and you must have a name of the person performing the ceremony. There is no waiting period for the license, and they are valid for 60 days."
