What is the name of your state?CA

My husband's friend had a confrontation with his jealous ex. He went to pick up his son at her house, the ex went through his cell phone and found females' numbers and got upset. She cursed at him and threw some of his stuff around and began hitting him. He tried to block her hits and told her to stop. He left and filed a police report on her. Next day, he received a restraining order from her. Everything she did to him she said he did to her and spiced the story some more. Can he do anything about it since it was all a lie on her part? Can he still have visitations with his son? Should he go to court and on what cause? My husband and another guy witnessed a time before when the ex had gone to their job with a bat to hurt a co-worker the guy was dating. would this help his case if any?

You will need to see if the children's name is on the OOP, if not then the visitation can continue. In the interim he needs to go to the court that issued the OOP and contest it. The OOP or restraining order is an ex-parte hearing but there is a way to have a full hearing on it.
