my husband and i live in missouri. he has two children from a previous marriage and we have a 3 month old baby together. recently we have gained custody of one of the children. his exwife still wants half of the child suppport for the one child in her custody. doesnt she have an obligation to financially support the child that we have? we are trying to get the child support lowered if not terminated. will the courts take into consideration the new child?

I believe in most states they will consider your husbands income as well as his ex's. Yes his support should be lowered but as far as him not having to pay anything at all it's depends on the incomes. I know people that have the same situation yet one parent gives support to the other for he makes more then she does.
