In 2007, DCF/CSE took my ex's to court.

My first ex was being taken for a 16 year old (they refused to go back for the two older kids). Now that she's 18, they won't stop taking his money. I called them and they are taking out for a child who belongs to my 2nd ex. They're making them BOTH pay and only want to argue with me about it. I was told by Dept of Revenue that this would continue until the child is 18 (she's 11).

Any way to stop this?

Okay so you are mom and have children (at least) with two different men. One man's youngest child with you is 18. has that child graduated from high school yet? Does he owe arrears?
The other child is 11. You are told that both men are paying support for the 11 year old? Get out your papers and send copies to DCF/CSE. Ask for an accounting of each child's account. Ask to speak to a supervisor. If the accounting shows that daddy 1 is paying support for child 2 file in court to have that stopped if DC will not cooperate. Move quickly.

Right.. I have 3 kids with first dad.. youngest 18. She was homeschooled and is finished..in fact she's going to college. They were taking the $158/month from his check for her but they continued taking it past her 18th birthday although they sent a letter telling us it would stop. So I called and they said new money coming out was for my 11 year old.
I explained that she's not his kid and that dad #2 is paying for that child.. (or at least is ordered to anyway). She pulled up Dad #2 in the system and saw this was so. But they didnt care. They said it would be pulled from his check until she's 18.

I'll do as you suggest... this is just so unbelievably stupid.

A short term solution?

From your posts, you clearly have no interest in taking advantage of this error.

You may already be doing this, but you could certainly just write him checks sending the erroneous payments back to him until the issue is resolved and the money from ex-1 stops coming.

i just want to comment, as you already have gotten the answer you need...I want to commend you. There simply not enough woman out there who are honest enough to try to help resolve this issue. There needs to be more like you and I, so many dad's get screwed quite frnkly because of unhonest, selfish, greedy woman out there!!! You are doing the right thing!! Also, if you do send a check back to him, make sure to write in the memo something like (REIMBURSEMENT FOR OVERPAID CHILD SUPPORT), just to cover yourself, as FLDOR may eventually come after you for that repayment!!
