My husband and I were married in Sept of 98 in KS. We were notified in Feb. 99 by his "Ex" that she had "appeared" for the final court date in Neb (we are in KS), therefore his divorce from her was never granted in Neb. He left the state after they filed, paid the atty's bill and she told him she would notify him when divorce was final. She came to KS and told him that the divorce was final, gave him a date and case number. (all false) He was never divorced from her! She has since moved to FLA and is filing for divorce from him again. Of course, he won't contest. Are WE married?

If he's not divorced from wife No. 1, he does not have a wife No. 2. If the divorce had been granted in Nebraska, he would not have been able to marry anyone (except his ex) anywhere for a period of 6 months following the divorce.

So what do I do now? Wait for the Florida divorce and marry him again? Is he a bigamist - breaking the law? Do I have to file my income taxes as single? Am I SINGLE again???

No, he is a bigamist. He should have got his final divorce decree before he married.
