This one is confusing, so I will start at the begining. First, Im in Florida. I own a business where we detail cars. I was approached by a limousine service that wanted to have their cars detailed by my establishment. We quoted them $50 per car, however my husband and the owner worked out a trade. 1 car detail= 1 hour of use for us to have of the limousines. This arrangement went fine untill they sold, and dident pay us the amount owed, or arrange the credit with the new owners. The amount we are out is aprox. $2500. Any sugestions? The agreements were verbal, but we did keep track of all details that were done to their cars, and we had to pay our detailers. Thank you in advance :)

I can understand the 'new' owner not accepting a verbal statement of $2500 worth of liability.

Suggestion:
1) Send the 'old' owner a letter reminding him of the verbal agreement. See if he will either contact the new owner to confirm the obligation, or confirm the arrangement to you in writing. Hope that he also confirms his advising the 'new' owner of this obligation as a part of the sale.

2) If the 'old' owner fails to perform, you will need to sue him, since he is the one who received the benefit of your services.

3) Learn a lesson... never allow a 'verbal agreement' to exceed the value that you are willing to lose!
