We recently authorized the finance company that has our automobile loan to computer generate a check to make our monthly payment. When we got our bank statement we found that they had drafted an amount over the authorized amount. What recourse do we have against them? We are residents of Texas.

Got anything in writing regarding the amount of debit to be made from your account each month?

If so, take it to the bank and demand that the excess amount taken from your account be put back with interest. Federal banking laws prohibit your bank from removing more money from your account than you have authorized.
