A month or so ago I had pulled into a parking spot pulled back out and pulled in straighter. I go into the store and a few minutes later this girl asks who owns that van? I told her I did she continues to tell me that I hit her vehicle I told her she was crazy and we went outside to see what she was talking about she showed me a dimple in the top part of the truck above the tire and I said well what makes you think I did that there isnt any scratches or anything plus it was snowy and the truck was dirty there should of been marks removing the dirt or a spot where an impact happpend I argued with this girl for about 15 min and finally told her to go home and ask her dad if it was there perviously I gave her my name and number and went inside of course they called their insurance and had an estimate for over 600 dollars when my insurance told me that I about died If you could of seen this dimple I told them they better get a more reasonable quote cuz that was so far fetched I knew then we were dealing with idiots and scamers I refused to pay for something I wasnt responsible for couple weeks past and today a adjustor came to take pics of my vehicle which of course there is no damage. How could something like this go so far
Oh did I mention that when I returned to my vehicle my tire was popped and now there is a so called witness?? How far could this go? My insurance co is handling it thus far but they asked why I gave my name and info if I wasnt at fault

Your vehicle doesn't need to be damaged in order to cause damage. It doesn't matter how much the damage cost, if the accident occurred. Most insurance companies and body shops can estimate the cost to repair damage than a person off the street. It could go as far as your insurance company paying the claim, which is what you have insurance for.

I realize that but I wasnt involved!! why should my insurance company pay ? they are terribly mistaken or the so called witness needed a reason to accuse someone else???

thank you for your response

Explain to your insurance company (in the form and they may want you to make a recorded statement also) that to the best of your knowledge, you did NOT hit her car and there is no corresponding damage on YOUR car indicating that you did. Recount the entire experience in as much detail as you can. They may also want a statement from your passenger even though they're not going to be considered an "independant" witness (biased in your favor). If your insurance company thinks there is insufficient evidence to prove that you hit her car, they may deny the claim. Or they may pay it if they think it will be more cost effective then trying to fight it. Either way, you won't have to pay anything. If they pay the claim, they MAY charge you with an at-fault accident and increase your premium. That's the worst-case scenario.
