What is the name of your state? NC
Ok, we have been with this property management company for almost 5 years, and very happy. However, we had to relocate and we moved into another one of their properties in another city that is HORRIBLE.
So... we've been sick as dogs all last week, and Sunday (the sixth) we put the rent check with the late fee included in the mail slot to the office. Later tonight we had an envelope on our door. Inside the envelope was our check, with a received 2/7 stamp on it, and a hand written note on the back on the envelope that they will not accept our check. They said that it MUST be a money order or certified check. Now, I got a little pissy because of how unprofessional and rude the note was. So, I called the office (unfortunately they were closed) and left a message I was very upset, this is a joke after being with this company for so long, and I will be calling the Property Management Company in the morning. I also said that I would be back there in the morning to hand them my original check.
So... just now, at 10PM I go outside and there is a notice to vacate on my doorstep. I have three days to leave. WTF?!?!?! I'm fuming here! We have been through so much just sitting here just trying to make it through this six month lease! My husband has been shot at, we're afraid to go out after dark, we have to park so far away because the children run wild and sit on the cars, our apartment was so nasty when we moved in, there is smeared paint all over the floors that i've been little by little cleaning up because it takes forever, the place wasn't painted, I have maintenance issues that have not been taken care of since November because their entire crew has quit, and to top it all off the other day I went out to my car, came back... and my door knob broke. My 3 and 4 year old were locked in the house alone for 20 mins! GRRR!
Now, my husband and I are going up there in the morning to try to be calm, and get them to just take our money. Is it just me? Or is the way they're going about this just ALL WRONG?!?!
Thanks,
Michelle
