Underage Drinking Citation. NEED ADVICE

To anybody who can help...
I am in college and live in a Dorm. I had an alcoholic beverage in a stairwell and was approached by a Residents Assistant. She took the drink away from me and then assured me that I wouldn't be in any further trouble. 20 mins later, 2 police officers showed up at my door. So she lied. They took a sample from the drink that the RA had taken off of me and cited me for underage possession. Once in my room they told me they had the right to search for alcohol and it would be much easier if I just gave it to them. I was completely cooperative and did just that. I gave them a half bottle of rum that was in my refridgerator. I pleaded not guilty. Does anybody have any advice for me? Does it matter that the police officers came to my room without ever seeing me hold the drink? Is the sample they took valid?

The police don't need to see the bottle in your hands. You apparently admitted to them that the RA was correct in citing you earlier in the day. That in effect was an admission of guilt on your part. Second, you gave the police permission to search the room and they found more alcohol. Strike two against you! You pleaded not guilty to the charges. What you are looking for I don't know. I don't know of any defense to help you out here. What are you thinking about?
