I have some questions pertaining to being caught drinking underage. I live in New York State and I had heard that there was some kind of a law that said if you are caught drinking in NYS and you are underage, you will be unable to teach in NYS. My friend is 18 and got caught and ticketed for underage drinking in his friend's dorm room and is going to college for teaching. Can they really keep him from ever teaching in the state?
Also after the police ticketed for drinking, they did a search of the room and found my friends fake id (a New Jersey liscence). What are the possible penalties for this? Can they take away his current NYS drivers liscense? He DID NOT have the id on him, nor did he use it to purchase the alcohol they were drinking. I really have no idea as to the seriousness of this offense. Any information you could provide me with would be really helpful.
