Hello I'm 19 and I live in Ohio. I was walking with a friend last night and had a 40 ounce in my coat(i know it was dumb) and a cop stops us and when the cop asked me to take my hands out of my pockets I dropped the bottle on the ground and it broke(also dumb, but i've never been involved with the law and I was nervous and not thinking) So I got two pink slips. One for underage consumption/possession and one for littering. This is my first offense. I'm just wondering if I'm looking at jail time or just fines or what. Thanks

you are most likely looking at fines. The maximum penalties associated for MIP are six months imprisonment or a $1,000 fine or both. Without priors, expect fines and court costs.

Littering has fines of up to $500 and 60 days in jail. Once again, do not expect jail for your first offense. In Ohio, you do not need intent to prove littering. Accidental drops count as littering. http://ohiodnr.com/tabid/18283/Default.aspx
