underaged tobacco possession

West virginia.
I'm 16 and i have court on monday for underaged tobacco possession/use when the cop/principal that called us in did not see us and they searched us and found nothing on us, not even a match. The three other girls wrote that i was smoking too when i wasnt but there is no proof that i wasnt. [no security footage or anything] I got my ticket 2 days later and it said i was on school property or near it and im afraid im going to get a worse fine if they say i was on school property. what can i do about this?

WERE you smoking? Then accept the consequences. Dress nicely for court, be polite, and be truthful.

Go to court Monday, but make them prove their case. That will involve making the witnesses testify, under oath, that you were smoking. The Police cannot testify as to what the witnesses stated. That is textbook hearsay.
