What is the name of your state? FL

A friend was doing a good job at a company but could see they were being pushed out. The company, through poor & probably corrupt management, laid off some people. They treated my friend badly hoping they would quit. They held on and were finally fired and escorted out of the building. The friend filed for unemployment. The state unemployment agency called the sleazy company and they claimed the fired employee "resigned." They clearly lied to the state. The state employee is checking into it but the agency worked appears to believe my friend. How serious is this? Is it the friend's word against the company? What should he do? What is the name of your state?

They would have to provide proof of his resignation. Your friend will be given a chance to refute that proof. If they don't have any proof, that's in his favor.
