What is the name of your state? illinois

My husband was laid off earlier this year and is eligible for unemployment benefits in december. He is also incarcerated for driving charges. I have a power of attorney signed by him. Am I able to collect it for myself and our 3 children? We are having financial hardship.

As far as I know, the only way to collect unemployment is the person filing must swear that they are/were available and ready to do work for that week.

I concur. If he is not available to accept work as offered, then he is no longer eligible for unemployment.
