I apologize for shouting you seem to be missing the point.
It is unethical the way my landlord conducts business

I am a student working to obtain a degree and of low-income is that a crime?

My bigest issue is her constant complaining regarding her finances. She confuses
the fact that the hud payment she recieves each month combined with my portion
of the rent contitutes payment in full.


My landlord was granted the rent increase and she still wants more.

However I am extemely grateful for my housing vourcher. without it
I could not afford rental payments in this market.

Also in response to the improvments, the landlord should have at least paid
for hotel accomadations while installing the intire plumbing system.

Have you ever been awakend in the wee hours of the morning to drilling and
removal of an old plumbiing system?

I have been through a lot of uneccessary stress at the hands of this landlord. She
has no regard for real estate law.

This landlord dose not abide by the real estate commisioner code of ethics
inwhich she is bound.

You ONLY pay $50 per month for rent and the landlord has improved the bathroom and you are complaining??? Does your lease require you to pay any utilities?

The poor landlord is stuck with a section 8 tenant and rising costs. Nothing you listed in your posts sounds corrupt, unethical, or abusive.

Well except the part where the landlord is trying to get the tenant to pay an extra 150 month that hud won't know about. That is called fraud. When a landlord accepts a section 8 tenant they have to abide by the laws for that tenant and trying to get them to pay extra money every month that is not due them is illegal.

The landlord is not STUCK with a section 8 tenant they agreed to accept that tenant because they know they are guaranteed thier rent every month. Also they probably did all the updating and repairs in order to get up to code to be able to accept the section 8 voucher.

If water and trash is included in your rent tell her to bite your ass because you are not paying that.

If she continues to try to EXTORT extra money from you every month inform her that you will call section 8 yourself and ask them if you are obligated to pay more, this should shut her up.

You have a choice, regarding the side payment the LL is asking for, Either report the LL to s8 for asking for the side payment or dont and just tell your LL flat out in written letter sent certified that there will be no more discussions with you about side payments or you will report the request to s8. Any inconvienence that went on with the remodeling is expected other wise you could look at it this way. Your LL could have done the barest min patch up job to be able to pass a annual re inspect and given you notice that they would not be renewing. As to any comments you get about your portion of the rent that you have to pay If your LL doesnt like it well too bad if your income comes up your portion of the rent will increase too. while living there you could just make sure to pay extra attn to prevent waste of any utility like water and sewer so you can help hold those cost down ,including doing things like amking sure to report in writing ANY water drips and leaks .like say toilet that runs once in a while.
