What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ca and TN
Hello,
I recently received a cancellation from State Farm on a rental policy in the state of Tennessee. I realize can't force a company to insure me, but I am frustrated for the reasons they are cancelling me.
A couple years ago a renter moved out of a Utah house of mine, left an unattended leak in the basement and a $5,000 claim resulted.
This year, at a Tennessee house, my new GE dishwasher sprung a leak while the renters were at work and once again a claim resulted. This one for approx. $3,000.
Though neither is technically my "fault" the Utah claim being on my record I understand, the other from Tennessee really irritates me. GE accepted responsibility for the faulty part and immediately paid me back for the deductible. My insurance company is seeking reimbursement for the claim. The adjuster acknowledged it was beyond my control. They canceled me anyway.
Now, a month after insuring me on the TN property, State Farm has cancelled me based in part on the Tennessee claim which is clearly GE's fault.
What the heck am I supposed to do here? Is anyone going to insure me? Can I appeal this insurance company rap sheet? Who even maintains it?
Thanks, BrianWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
