What is the name of your state?
California

I was involved in an auto accident where a women ran a stop sign and T-boned my car, and I have a copy of the police report which states the same. Unfortunately I was uninsured at the time and now that I received a check for the damages done to my car, the insurance company (farmers) has submitted my information to a credit collection company staying I owe $13,100 for the damages done to their clients property. They told me that in California if you don_t have insurance you have to pay for the other persons property loss even if the accident is not your fault... is this true????

That is completely wrong. Being uninsured does not make you at fault.

Has Farmers Ins. sent you a letter stating that position?

Why would they pay for your car damages and then turn around and claim you owe them for their insured's damages?

Run, don't walk, to an attorney and have the attorney get in writing from Farmers that they are dropping their claim against you.

Yeah, what he said. This makes ABSOLUTELY no sense. Get an attorney.
