I went to an Emergency room in my home state of TX for a back spasm. I spoke with a physician for fifteen minutes, got two shots and walked out.

I am uninsured and asked what prices were at check in.
The check-in people quoted $100 for the doctor fee plus any procedures when I checked in. The doctor bill turned out to be $220. The hospital billed seperately for $350, but I negotiated to $150 and paid that portion.

The healt organization that bills for the doctor won't budge on the $220 even though I was quoted $100.

What are my payment options? Can I pay $1 per month for 220 months? Can an organization charge any fee to the uninsured?
$220 for 15 minutes seems excessive to me.
Thanks
MARK
