What is the name of your state? michigan

my car was involved in an accident with a uninsured motorist he was at fault.
on the police report it gives his address and phone number do i try to call or write him about the 500.00 claim or do i just go to small claims to place a judgement against him.

Call first. There's no need to sue him, if he will negotiate a payment first. Then, if you don't get results, you can sue.
