What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas.

I am student. I took an online course. The semester started on 06/07/2010. The first time I logged in to the course was on 06/09/2010. Last week I notice that I was dropped from the class. The instructor told me that since I did not log in by 06/08/2010, I was dropped. She also said that it was mentioned on the course orientation. But, I saw that orientation on 06/09/2010. When I registered, it was not mentioned to me that there is such a rule that I need to log in by 06/08/2010. The instructor is adamant on not letting me to reinstate, and the college will not pay my money back. I talked to the department chair's office, and they told me that they will not do anything unless and until the instructor provides a 'no objection' letter to them. Is there anything that can be done by law? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
