Dear Sir or Madam,

My question is regarding the seperation of unmarried couples and the distribution of property and assets after seperation in NY STATE.

I am in a relationship with my girlfriend for over 7 years now. I own a couple of properties in New York City. Some properties are on my name, some on her name, and some on both our names. I want to get seperated in the near future and I want to know, who is going get or claim the property I own .

Questions:

Q1: What happens to the properties upon seperation, or you is likely to get them, when
a) property is on MY NAME
b) property is ON HER NAME
c) property is on both our names

Q2: Where can I find information on that specific matter on the internet ( such as precedent cases or general info)

Please help me and let me know what the deal is. Any help is highly appreciated

Colin
