I was let go after presenting candidates to clients for hire for the employment agency I worked for. The candidates were eventually hired.

I was let go by my employer prior to my ex company getting paid the fees for these candidates. I have read that is does not matter if you are with the company prior to your employer getting paid their fee despite the fact that the employee handbook says I have to be employed at the time they get paid to earn the commission.

Am I still entitled to my commissions? Write me at [email protected] ThanksWhat is the name of your state?

Please remove your email address. Spamming is the best thing that could come of this.

California deems earned commissions earned as vested wages, which must be paid as soon as the amount can be reasonably determined after termination. A provision requiring the employee to be employed at the time of payment would be in violation of California law.

File a claim with the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.
