What is the name of your state? PA

Earlier this year, I had a teacher say several unappropriate comments to me regarding my race, however, he claims they were not in malice!?! Despite this, I still felt the full effect of his racial comments. I have yet to inform an administrator in fear the teacher may alter my grade or give me a hard time. Is this worth bringing to court?

Racism and racists exist, unfortunately, and free speech in our country allows for most racially insensitive and inappropriate remarks to be made without legal consequence. The most serious consequences of such speech tend to be job loss and/or loss of esteem in the community.

If you are finding that this teacher is treating you, and the work you produce in class, differently than he does the other students, and you believe it is based solely on your race, this is certainly something you will want to bring to the attention of the administration. Whether you do it now, and suffer possible repercussions from reporting the teacher while still attending his class, or whether you do it later, to see how fairly your work in his class was judged, is up to you. If your grade in the class appears to reflect his bias, you can request that an objective party review your classwork.

As for his comments alone, however, I do not believe, from what you have posted, that there is any court action here.
