My roomates and I signed a lease in August of 1999 to rent half a duplex in Denver, CO. We did not receive a copy of the lease until Ocober 13, 1999. We then noticed that our landlord never signed it, and when we asked her to sign the lease she refused. Are we bound by this lease?

well you could give the landlord a 30 day notice you are moving...

And the landlord could give you 30 days to move......as long as you both didnot sign a lease, then it is a month to month rental.

do you have the envelope with the postmark?

so start moving......oh and the landlord will be pisssed as all rednecks get, when they will have to cough up your security deposit. You will have to sue her in small claims court to get it back.

Remember this always......Leases work BOTH WAYS.....it protects each sides from abuse, and misunderstandings.

But since you dont have a signed lease you can really be screwed by an nasty landlord
