What is the name of your state? Florida

I have disputed a debt which was placed on my credit reports.

The debt continues to be reported, even though it has not been validated.

I have sent copies of the original letter of dispute, copies of the Certified mail receipt and signature etc etc threatening to to sue under the FDCPA if they do not stop the reporting of this debt.

The credit bureaus too continue to report this without the notation 'disputed by consumer' and my question is what recourse do I have ?

My understanding is that the law allows a penalty of $1,000 per incidence.

Many thanks!
