What is the name of your state? Kentucky

I am not sure if there any legality issues with my inquiry. While in a McDonalds restaraunt an employee made a comment to me about going to Ponderosa and ordering the "tube steak". He repeated this twice and then said he was "just kidding". Obviuosly, this was not an appropriate comment.

I was taken back by the comment and did not know how to respond. This is a restaraunt that I frequently take my 8 year old son. If this comment would have been made in front of him it would have been very upsetting.

Should I just drop it?

Have I lived an extremely sheltered life or something? I have no clue what that even means. But I am pretty darn sure it is not reputationally damaging. . . . except maybe to cows.

oh quincy. it has nothing to DO with cows.

It has to do with a certain appendage of a male body.

you gotta get out more. . . . . .

Ahhh. Well then. That is a very odd comment for anyone to make. I am not sure I want to get out more, if that is what I can expect to hear. :p ;) :)

Add me to the list of people who've never heard the expression, though can be expected to realize what it means after about 30 seconds.

The eight year old wouldn't have a clue about what the employee said, but probably would have guessed from parental reaction that it might be worth repeating to h/h playmates.

Worry about hamburger not being cooked long enough or the employees not keeping the restaurant clean enough to meet health department standards.

Or write a letter to the manager, but don't mention that you were concerned that the expression used might upset your eight year old because he or she won't take you seriously (I wouldn't). Just say you don't think it's appropriate to use that kind of "slanguage" in a business environment.

Okay, so now, based on the two previous posters' postings, of a likewise-lack of knowledge of this particular "tube steak" phrase, it begs the question:

With whom and to where, exactly, does fairisfair get out?  :p
