Upset with car purchase

I recently bought a car from a person in Milwaukee. We went a week ago to look at the car and we put a down payment on it. He delivered it to us yesterday and I paid him the rest of the money. Now my problem...I run a daycare out of my house and due to working I could not go and drive the car or anything. Well he left and my hubby started the car today and it shakes really bad now. I dont know what he did but it was fine last week when we test drove it and saw it running for a good 15 minutes. My bill of sale says nothing about the car being sold "as is" so if he wont take the car back can we sue him for something being done to the car after we looked at it or does he have to take it back due to there being no "as is"? Thanks for your help.

There's an expensive lesson in caveat emptor. Unless there was a warranty (I'm assuming no, as it sounds like an individual seller), it's your problem to deal with now.

What does caveat emptor mean?

I originally saw the ad on ebay but it doesnt say "sold as is" or anything like that it even says how nicely the car runs and talks of a 1 year warranty which he gave me papers on from a shop. Please help!!!

THEN HE HAD A PERFORMANCE CLUTCH ACT 2600 WITH A STREET DISK BUT, IT NEEDS A BREADED STEEL CLUTCH LINE TO FINISH IT THE OLD HOSE LIKES TO FLEX LITTLE BIT SO UNTIL YOU DO THAT YOU HAVE TO SHIFT A LITTLE SLOWER OTHERWISE IT MIT GRUNT LITTLE BIT GOING INTO 3RD. HOW I COME INTO ALL OF THIS I BORROWED HIM THE MONEY AND I'M TRYING TO GET IT BACK BY HELPING HIM SELL IT. THE CAR HAS ALL NEW SENSORS, COIL PACK, EXHAUST, MOTOR, TRANS, CLUTCH, ECU, THE SHOP SAID IT WAS AN E-PROM, REAR HALF SHAFTS, FRONT BALLJOINT, TIRES, AND BRAKES. IT WILL NEED A BREADED STEEL CLUTCH LINE AND THE CORRECT OIL PRESSURE SENOR THE SHOP CAN'T FIND THE CORRECT ONE SO IT CAUSE A CHECK ENGINE LITE AFTER DRIVING A LITTLE WAYS. THE SHOP SAID IF YOU CAN FIND A USED ONE JUST SCREW IT IN THEN THE PROBLEM WOULD BE FIXED I HAVE PUT ABOUT 1000 MILES ON IT AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH DRIVEABLITY. SO IF YOU WON THE CAR YOU COULD TAKE A BUS OR DRIVE OUT AND PICK IT UP AND DRIVE IT BACK ANYWHERE. THE CAR HAS A VISCUS LSD REAR END IN IT TO.
THIS CAR IS NOT DRIVEABLE!!!
let me also add that besides the car shaking real bad it also took my hubby 5-10 min just to start it. it is nothing as stated in ad.
