Hi,
We sold a car, approximately one month ago. I do not know the exact date.
The car was broken down in the third week. Buyer wanted us to pay the
money back. Buyer has gone to a lawyer and will sue us by the article
below. I guess they will use the eight part of it.

Car belonged to my wife's brother, and he went back to his country approximately a year ago. He planned to come back, but then changed
his mind and did not come. During the past year, car was not used much
and was parked. My wife's brother had bought the car in Main State,
and since it was not used last year, its license was over, that is, it
could not be allowed in traffic.
We took the car from the place where it was parked, we brought it to
car repair services because we had the intension to sell it and
brought it to our street at last. While we were in US we
tried to sell it via internet adds, but could not.
Since its license was over, the car was taken away from the street
while we were out in our country for summer holiday. A friend of us dealed with the issue, paid the fees, etc. He took the car into his possession to
sell it for us. He brought it to inspection, approximately 2-3 months
ago. And he made it repaired and then sold the car. Before selling
it, he had warned the buyer to go to a mechanic to learn if it
is necessary to repair, etc.
The buyer had not gone to inspection, and time belt was broken in its
third week. We sold the car for 2200 US dollars, at buyer wants us to
pay back 2140 US dollars.
Does the buyer have any rights to want us pay the money back? Since we
did not know any problems about the car (we tried to fix the ones we met before selling) we believe that we are right.
If you can help us, we will appreciate it very much.
Thank you very much
