I dont know if this is the right catagory but oh well.
I recently purchased a new home in a cul-de-sac. Our builder built us a nice brick mailbox. When we moved in we recieved a hand-written note from our carrier saying that she would not deliver mail to our box in the cul-de-sac. She informed us that we must put a box out on the main street(on someone else's property) or just before the curve of the cul-de-sac(which is now someone else's driveway). We checked with the local post office and the told us that it was a new city ordinance, so we put up a temporary box on the street. It has been about 4 months since we moved in. Last week I noticed a new carrier was delivering our mail, so I left a note directing her to deliver to our brick box. She did! I have found out that our regualar carrier is now back and we aren't recieving our mail again. Here is the clincher: The culdesac behind ours has mail delivered to their boxes - in the culdesac - and a new development just finished two new houses within the last couple of weeks in a culdesac, and just guess where their mailboxes are! And their mail is being delivered. I checked with the city and they DO NOT have and ordinance; In fact we are the only subdivision that this so called ordinance is being inforced. We're pretty sure it is just the carrier being lazy -to be polite- What do we do?
