I want to use the names of major companies in my textbook. I want to show sample letters. The book is about writing.

There are 120 letters, and I have been told that staff attorneys at companies like Ford will give me kneejerk rejections.

Can I get by with a mass disclaimer? Or how can I protect myself?
Thanks

Why do you have to use the names of major companies? What is the purpose?
For sample letters, you can use made up company names.

Students pay about 1,000% more interest to things that have a "real" image to them. Phoney names just don't generate the interest of the real thing. This methodology is to increase student interest, and thus student learning. A legal case involving whatever black man doesn't have the interest of the O.J. Simpson trial.

The normal standard for a 10 chapter text is to use ten companies, and contact them for permission. But with 120 it would become a logistical nightmare, especially because I am in Latin America and the mail service is a disaster. Thanks
