scenario. a colleaugue has over years of clinical practice gathered a collection of photographs depicting various conditions, (of a non-intimate nature)many of which are rare. the pictures are of body parts, and do not show facial features. the patients gave verbal permission for the photos to be taken. An opportunity has now arisen to develop an on-line course were it would be of educational value to the student to view the photographs. would the use of the photographs open the clinician/ course developers to litigation, should the patient depicted in the photo recognise their body part and object to its use?
