What is the name of your state? ID

Can I use my tax refund to pay my back mortgage payments and the attorney fees/filing fees? I would prefer to file a Ch 7, rather than a Ch 13, as the only thing I need to protect is my house. The bulk of the debts I am seeking relief from are medical bills. I certainly don't want to utilize the money inappropriately prior to filing.

Thanks.

Yes, it is certainly allowable to pay SECURED debts and necessities. Just have receipts or records handy to show where it all went.
