I purchased a used car from what I thought was a reputable dealership. When I purchased the car, I asked if it had been involved in any accidents. I was told it was not. As it has turned out, the dealership transposed two numbers in the vin# and I have been sent new contracts from the finance company reflecting the corrected vin# to sign. It cleary states on these new papers that if I do not sign them it will become a dealer buy-back. What exactly does that mean? And what will my obligations be if any? I should also add that with the corrected vin#, I was able to look it up and the car has been in an accident. I want to return the car to the dealership.
