used car lemon-what can I do?

i bought a used vehicle 3 months ago in columbus, ohio. since the 3rd day after purchase, we have had nothing but problems. first, the abs light came on, then it began to lose pressure in the brakes. we informed the dealer, who had us take it to their shop. they supposedly fixed the problem, but on the way home, the same problem occurred. we informed the dealer of this, they had us take it back, where the mechanic then told us he couldnt help us. took it to another of the dealers shop's to fix the same problem, and a new problem with the engine losing power. got the vehicle back in worse condition than when we dropped it off. still having the abs light come on, now the check engine light comes on as well, and each new day brings a new problem. the dealer refuses to refund our money, wants us to take it to yet another shop and attempt repairs again. what are our options in this situation? is there any way we can legally get the dealer to give us a refund? please help anybody if you can. thanks

yes, there is a warranty listed on the contract. it states that there is a 30-day 50/50 warranty on the power train. i have no seperate sheet of paper detailing the warranty, only a small section on the sales contract that states that there is one.

The issue here is not just about any potential liability on the part of the dealer, but on the mechanic, as well.

Have spoken to the better business bureau in your area to see what might be done through them?

try going higher up like a general manager. or report them to the attorney general send them everything including costs you are having to occur. if you have a warranty their should be some type of dedcutible on your behalf. get a brouchure at the libary or from the better buiness for the address of complaints for a lemon.

Update: Yes, we called the Better Business Bureau, yes we contacted the Attorney General, and we went as high up the chain as we could-the owner of the car lot....it went back to the shop again, was there for 2 weeks, problem supposedly got fixed, it is better than it was, but not as good as it should be. There have been occurrences of same problem, just not as often or as many. And for awhile after we got it back, there was a new problem, it would stall after the first start. So, we have just about given up on ever getting it completely fixed through the dealer, if we want it fixed, we will probably have to take it to our own mechanic.
