What is the name of your state? ga
i just bought a used car from a dealership 2 weaks ago and yesterday the tierod on the front driver side broke. the dealer towed the car back to the dealership, but this has left me out of work for 2 days now. do i have any rights under the state lemon law even though the car was sold as is? if so, what are they?

Your rights was to have a mechanic or someone knowledgable to check the car out before purchasing. Your right was to buy a car with warranty and not buy one as-is. You have got what you paid for and that is a costly lesson. I know it's probably not what you wanted to hear but there isn't a lot you can do about it legally. You may try talking to the dealership to see if they will volunteer anything. If they do take it because they don't have to offer anything.

I agree, and add the following:

1) The Georgia 'lemon law' does not cover used cars.
2) The tie-rod is a solid piece of steel. As such, unless there was a pre-existing crack (not looked for during inspection), there is no way to determine if the dealer would be liable for it breaking.
