What is the name of your state? virginia. relative of mine purchased a 97 cadillac from an infinity dealer in the dallas-ft worth area. deal was made thru a friend who's a salesman at the dealer. relative gave them a post-dated check, to be made good when insurance settlement for previously owned totaled vehicle arrived. cadillac was "purchased" one week ago. there's an engine problem with the car that a cadillac service rep. says is probably a blown head gasket. since the car was purchased only 7 days ago, does my relative have any legal grounds for returning the vehicle and getting her post-dated check (stop payment has been initiated) back and calling off the whole deal. car was purchased "as-is", but considering it's only been a week, does this change anything? what if the dealer refuses to budge - should my relative go to the area nissan rep. and/or county better business bureau? thanks.
