What is the name of your state? Pennslyvinia I bought a used car from a privite perosn no papers were signed for an "as is" I had the car not even 17 hours and the car left me sitting on the road.. Is there anything I can do to get my money back???????:: :eek: :mad:

Nope! Last person was right - lemon law doesn't apply to private sales and the car was specifically sold "as is". That seals the deal kid! Sorry!

With the information you provided the answer would be you bought it AS-Is even though it's not written.

Now if there was an advertisement , reflecting it was in good working order , you may have a case in small claims . If your problem didn't not occur until the 17th hr., then one could argue it worked fine before and they weren't aware of the problem, unless , you could provide a couple a estimates that stated the condition was pre existent.

With out all of that, your stuck,because it would have been up to you to have a mechanic check it over before purchase ..
