We live in Illinois and recently bought a 95 Chevy Blazer which was represented to us by the dealer as "spotless". We were told the car underwent a safety inspection and that it also came with a 3 month,3,000 mile warranty. A few days after buying the car(in cash) it began making noises so we took it to our mechanic to have him inspect it. He told us the car had major problms...it needed new lifters, the transmission was messed up,needed new front brakes, and hadn't had an oil change in ages.So much for the safty inspection!!We immediately took it to the dealer and they agreed to repair the warranty items ...that was 3 weeks ago.In calling them to see how things were coming they said well, things are worse than we thought...it needs a new engine!!!! So much for this spotless car we have only had for 4 weeks! They now tell us it could take many more weeks to fix since the warranty company needs to get involved before they can make repairs. We are so frustrated with this situation and they just won't budge. Do we have any recourse or do we just have to wait til hell freezes over to have the repairs made. Plus will we ever really get them to do the job correctly before the warranty expires. I feel this car was really misrepresented to us. What can we do to get our money back??
