What is the name of your state? Florida

I bought a used car the other day from a dealer. The buyer's guide that I got was marked "implied warranty only". A few days later, I discovered that the car has a cracked blcok. Is there anything I can do? I mean like any legal recourse here?
thanks.

Can you prove you didn't crack the block?

I think he asks this question because most used car sales are "as-is" and the expert mechanic you used to inspect the car before you purchased it should have seen the signs of a cracked block if it was there before you bought it. If it actually happened AFTER you purchased it, "you did it", and it would be your responsibility to repair it. Typically, blocks can crack from "abuse" like improper coolant, low coolant, operation when cooling fan is not working, towing situations and many more. In my eyes it would be VERY difficult to prove. I would be interested in your explanation of proof.

Unfortunately, Florida is not one of the 10 states that mandate used car dealers to provide a warranty for all sales. "Implied warranty" means nothing other than the vehicle will do what it's supposed to, i.e. a car will drive, a plow will plow, a dump truck will dump, a bulldozer will bulldoze, etc. It does not warranty the condition of the vehicle.

So unfortunately you're out of luck. Always get a used car inspected by a mechanic prior to purchasing it.
