What is the name of your state? Maryland

I was always told that if you bought a used vehicle from a private owner it had to be inspected if it was sold for more than a $1000.00. Is that a true statement and what law is it? Thanks for your help.

*** There is no generic legal requirement for this required inspection and each buyer is obligated to perform their own inspection, or not. This would be a part of 'due diligence' and also "Caveat Emptor" (buyer beware).

And though this provision could be a part of your states 'consumer protection' policies, it does not appear to be required from the information at the following:
